Hanoi, December 18, 2025 – The Center for Materials Innovation and Technology (CMIT) at VinUniversity and the Phenikaa Institute for Advanced Study (PHENA) at Phenikaa University have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a comprehensive partnership in materials science and technology.
The signing ceremony took place at Phenikaa University, with the participation of Prof. Phan Manh Huong representing CMIT and Prof. Dr. Le Anh Tuan representing PHENA, alongside key researchers and faculty members from both institutions.

A Shared Vision for Global Competitiveness
This MOU establishes a collaborative framework based on mutual understanding and goodwill. Its primary objective is to unite the strengths of two of Vietnam’s leading research centers to advance toward world-class research standards.
By fostering cooperation in research and development, education, and the sharing of state-of-the-art facilities, the partnership aims to be a driving force for innovation. The alliance focuses on mastering advanced materials and smart sensing technologies, thereby enhancing scientific capabilities and expanding the commercialization capacity of Vietnamese products in the global market.

Three Strategic Pillars of Cooperation
During the signing ceremony, leadership from both sides engaged in productive discussions and identified three priority areas for immediate collaboration:
Roadmap for Implementation
While the MOU sets out the foundational principles of voluntariness and mutual benefit, both parties are committed to concrete action. CMIT and PHENA agreed to move quickly from high-level strategy to detailed project planning.
To ensure the partnership delivers tangible results, the two institutes have agreed on a structured roadmap that emphasizes practical application. Progress will be monitored closely, with a unified agreement to conduct quarterly reports to track the development of joint projects. Specific legally binding agreements for these projects will be drafted and executed through distinct contracts as the collaboration evolves.
